Neighborhood Feature - Navy Yard

I love this city, from the people to the culture, and I LOVE the neighborhoods. Welcome to Navy Yard, the featured neighborhood of the week! Lying up against the Anacostia Riverfront in Southeast DC, this is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the city over the last 7 years. It's home to the Nationals’ stadium, waterfront dining, the District Winery, luxury condos, and a modern flare on the DC row home architecture we all know and love. You can also visit the U.S. Navy Museum, the seasonal ice rink in Canal Park, and an outdoor waterfront beer garden.

With that growth, median sales prices have gone from $575,000 in 2016 to $700,000 in 2021. It’s a truly fantastic option for anyone who loves modern design features like floor to ceiling windows and quartz countertops, or those who want to be able to walk to nightlife and entertainment. In addition, if you work in the eastern half of the city, east of Metro Center, it’s hard to beat the combination of the new young neighborhood vibe with the convenience of a zero transfer work commute on the metro’s green line. The neighborhood has 3 major condo buildings, which means most of the high rise residential buildings you'll see are rental or hotel buildings. While that may not seem like a lot of options, there are streets full of beautiful row homes as well, each with their own color schemes and unique design features. Many of these have been built in the last 10 to 15 years as well. Be sure to check out my Happy Hour blogs to see where to stop for a drink and a bite next time you come visit Navy Yard!
